Sam attended UCSC where he learned how to dive, earning certification for dive master, instructor assistant, and scientific diver. Sam was the SCUBA club president from 2013-2016. After graduating with a degree in Marine Biology in 2016 from UCSC, Sam headed down south to Santa Barbara to get certified in commercial diving. Since graduating in 2017, Sam has been working as a commercial diver both in Monterey CA, and Seattle WA. During his time in Monterey, Sam has worked as an Underwater Explorer instructor at the Monterey Bay Aquarium for three summers. He is even a Pacific Grove Hyperbaric Chamber volunteer.
Billy has had a deep connection with the ocean since childhood. While attending UCSC to pursue a degree in Marine Biology he got hooked on diving. Starting his diving career in 2003, he ultimately ended up getting his instructor certification in 2007. After college Billy worked as an instructor and program assistant for the recreational SCUBA program at UCSC for 7 years. While teaching at UCSC he furthered his diving experience and knowledge by servicing the university's gear, and getting rebreather certified in 2012. After leaving the university in 2013 Billy found himself working as a SCUBA technician and commercial diver in Monterey Bay. He's a regular dive master and deckhand on one of the local dive charters.
